Especially with most email programs removing all images by default in an html email or newsletter, the formulation of a proper, well written subject line and header line for your email is of utmost importance if you want to help ensure good open rates.
You can have all the best call out graphics in the world in your email, but no one will see them unless they choose to download the images of the email. That is why you need to hook them with a strong subject line and then ensure your header line speaks to the value of the email you are sending. If your header line simply says "having trouble viewing, view as web page," you are missing the point. A line should always appear below that summarizing the key offer or key points of the email to entice the receiver to get the full experience.
